Saha- Return Of The Natural Goalscorer

Posted on 16 November 2008

On deadline day, September 1st 2008 an Everton legend in the making was signed for a paltry fee of around £2million, his name is Louis Saha. He has scored goals wherever he has been and when he has stayed injury-free. Sir Alex Ferguson was reluctant to let him leave Manchester United even though he had an abundance of strikers in Dmitar Berbatov, ex-toffee Wayne Rooney and Carlos Tevez which tells you the calibre of player we have acquired. He has had a relatively slow start to his Everton career but he grabbed the winner against old club Fulham and he is sure to kick on from here, as he was just gaining match fitness and settling in at his new club. I was worried about our lack of strikers after we sold Andy Johnson to Fulham with only inexperienced youngsters James Vaughan and Victor Anichebe alongside Yakubu but I now think we have a good blend of youth and experience up front. If it weren’t for his injury problems throughout his career, he would be plying his trade at a bigger club and would still be scoring goals for France. He will also help the younger players at the club by passing on his knowledge and experience and I’m sure Moyes has made a very astute signing for Everton football club.
