Admittedly, I have yet to see much of “teenage sensation” Aaron Ramsey but in my opinion, his signing would send out a message, Everton are a team that means business.
I have, at times, groaned about our transfer policy in recent years, citing ignorance and insufficiency. It genuinely pains me everytime Spurs pluck a rising gem up for a few million pounds, although it must be said Moyes has been successful in gathering players from the Championship (Jagielka, Cahill, Lescott, Johnson)
Ramsey is 17, and one can only imagine the euphoria surrounding him at the moment. However, he must remain level headed, football can make you just as easily as it can break you. The choice of who to sign for, it would seem, will prove career defining.
It is my belief that if Ramsey opts for the bright lights of London (if reports are to be believed and Arsenal have had a bid accepted) or signs on the dotted line in Salford, he will be making an astronomical mistake. However talented Ramsey may be, there is no doubting one thing, Ramsey will be buried under the talent at Manchester United, in the short term anyway. Appearances will prove limited, with the Cardiff man resorted to the odd Carling Cup appearance, undoubtedly this will prove highly frustrating.
In my mind, it makes absolute sense for those that are managing the young prodigy to send him where he will play more regularly and develop his talent. The reality remains; we are not short of international class talent and playing regular first team football amongst that will certainly prove more beneficial than lingering within the reserve teams of the so called “Big 4″.
I refuse to accept we “cannot challenge” the likes of Manchester United over future prospects. If we don’t act and rise to the challenge now, will we ever? We should not underestimate our power and appeal as a club, one that is growing, developing and evidently on the up.
If Ramsey is as good as many believe him to be, then it would be a travesty if he didn’t have the right head on his shoulders. Does he want to be another Liam Miller, Denilson or Djemba Djemba? Or does Ramsey want to grow, develop and endear himself to the best fans in the land? The choice is simple, the choice is blue.

One other thing that Ramsey should think about if joining Man U, is that Alex Ferguson might be quitting MU sometime soon. Some rumours say as early as after next season.
