Moyes Window Shopping…. For Goalkeepers?

Posted on 05 May 2008

David Moyes looks to have signalled his intent about a fruitful summer after The Mirror today reported that he was after Wales and Wolves ‘keeper Wayne Hennessey. The 21 year old stopper is rated highly by the Molineux outfit, to the princely sum of £5.5 million. With David Moyes set to be on a tight budget this Summer, who knows if he will be willing to spend a large amount of his budget on a backup ‘keeper.

No thanks- not for 5.5m anyway. Unproved in Premiership would mean a huge risk, not only considering our resources, but due to the fact we have one of the best keepers in the Premier League already

If we had a £50 million budget, I would be happy for Moyes to go after him, problem is, we will only have £20 million!

Watch out Moyes. Saying that, I would take him for £3 million!

  3. Olli says:

I don’t see the point in signing an unproven keeper for £5.5mil to sit on the bench. IMO, its best to have an experienced keeper on the bench as back up

  4. Michael says:

Do we really need another goalie? I don’t think so. We should be spending that money on a midfielder.

  5. Adam says:

Being a Wolves supporter I would know that Hennessey in the current transfer climate is very much worth all of 5.5 mil and more. Plus he’s actually 21, not 24.

Thanks Adam, I will correct it right away…
