Moyes’ New Deal

Posted on 13 November 2008

I for one was happy to see Moyes finally sign on the dotted line and secure a future at the club, but, not for the reason of Moyes, as I think he would be easily replaceable, but the stability of our great club.

The results since hen signed have been emphatic, with the results before leaving a lot to be desired. Early exits from both the Carling Cup and the UEFA cup will mean matching our successes last season a lot more difficult – with the only viable trophy being the FA Cup.

I believe Moyes has a lot to prove – is his one way style of football worth the reported £70,000 a week he will now collect? Was the lack of transfers down to Moyes, or simply Kenwright not stumping up the cash Moyes so desperately needed?

One thing is for sure the next 12 months will probably be the trickiest or Moyes’ tenure. After all, with a potential takeover on the way – will an investor want to Moyesiah as the manager of their club? Or will they have bigger ideas?

We can only wait and find out…
