Horse Racing is the Sport of Kings

Posted on 23 October 2008

If you enjoy soccer, you’re probably a fan of many different sports. If you enjoy horse racing, there are many big races you can follow. In the US there’s the Triple Crown of horse racing, which is the Preakness, Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes. The Kentucky Derby is held at Churchill Downs, the Preakness at Pimlico Race Course in Maryland and the Belmont at Belmont Park in Elmont, New York.

Not everyone knows that Australia also has it’s own version of the Triple Crown. The three races that make that up are: 2,000 Guinea Stakes, Epsom Derby and the St. Leger Stakes. The biggest race though in Australia is the annual Melbourne Cup, which is for three-year-old horses and over, and covers a distance of 3,200 meters. The event is held on the first Tuesday in November by the Victoria Racing Club, on the Flemington Racecourse in Melbourne.

If you are looking for Melboure Cup Odds or Melbourne Cup Betting, there are some great places to do that. One of them is the Racing Report.com, where they will let you bet on the Melbourne Cup and there is plenty of information on the odds of each horse, from the field favorite, Mad Rush all the way down to 401-1 longshots.
