Everton will have to take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge if they are to get to Wembley for the first time in 13 years. Everton suffered an embrassing defeat at Goodison Park at the hands of Oldham, just three days before this match, but the Everton squad will certainly not need a boost from manager David Moyes. The two legged affair starts at Stamford Bridge, where Chelsea boast a 41 game unbeaten streak, and Everton haven’t won their in their last 7 attempts, but, after securing 1-1 draws in their last two games at Stamford Bridge, Everton will at least be optimistic ahead of this clash.
Everton are set to be without Steven Pienaar, who has been withdraw from the squad by FIFA, who decided he must leave for ACON. Leon Osman will also miss this match due to injury, and Mikel Arteta is out due to suspension. Chelsea are also missing several key players including Frank Lampard, John Terry, Didier Drogba, Kalou and Petr Cech.
Everton will be up for this late night match, and will want to prove that they are the pride of Merseyside.
