The battle for fourth place in the Premier League goes on as Everton face Manchester City at Goodison Park on Saturday. Everton have lost four of their last five games, although three of these have come against Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd. Man City on the other hand, occupy the 4th place after overtaking Liverpool.

Everton will have to take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge if they are to get to Wembley for the first time in 13 years. Everton suffered an embrassing defeat at Goodison Park at the hands of Oldham, just three days before this match, but the Everton squad will certainly not need a boost from manager David Moyes.

Everton go into a very tricky away tie away at Middlesbrough, and the first day of the new year, having lost their last game 4-1 to Arsenal, even when they arguably played the better football. To make it worse for Everton, they are missing Mikel Arteta after he received a three game ban for his “elbow” on Cesc Fabregas.

Everton firmly put the unfortunate defeat at Old Trafford behind them with a win against Bolton at Goodision Park, and now, they have the tougher challenge of Arsene Wenger’s side, who travel to Goodison Park occupying 2nd place in the table.
