Chelsea will be without Petr Cech for a fortnight, and will miss the game at Goodison after the keeper had surgery to his lips and chin following a collision with Tal Ben-Haim in training. It is understood that he required 50 stitches.

Scott Spencer has returned to Everton, after an unsuccessful month’s loan. Spencer was signed by Everton £250,000 two years ago, but seems to have not impressed as much as people were expecting. Spencer only made three substitute appearances at Macclesfield.

Manuel Fernandes is desperate to impress in the last few games of the season. The Portuguese midfielder started the game against Derby on Sunday and created the only goal of the game for Leon Osman. But afterwards he conceded that things haven’t gone as well as he’d hoped during his second spell with Everton.
